Meet the Chairman and CEO

Yvette Allen, GRI, Chairman San Antonio Board of REALTORS®
Allen joined the Board of Directors in 2011 and is a 2009 graduate of the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program. In 2010 she held the position of chairman of the Young Professionals Network and in 2016 she is the vice chair of SABOR’s TREPAC Committee. She has also served on the Member Benefits Committee for the Texas Association of REALTORS® and as an instructor for the Real Estate School at SABOR. In addition to the GRI and ALHS professional designations, Allen holds a Business degree from St. Mary’s University. She is the broker/owner of Real Estate 210.

Angela Shields, CAE, RCE, e-PRO, CEO / President San Antonio Board of REALTORS®

Angela began her career with the REALTOR® organization in Athens, Georgia, in 1993. In 2010, she assumed the role of President and CEO of the San Antonio Board of REALTORS®. Over the years, she has served the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors and served on several committees and workgroups including the Association Executives Committee, RCE Governing Board, Business Issues, Research, Data Strategies, Federal Technology Policy Advisory Board and the Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committees. She currently serves as the 2017/2018 Chair of the Association Executives Institute Advisory Board and sits on the NAR Association Executives Committee. In addition, she serves on the NAR Association Executives Committee (AEC) Recommendations and Recognitions Advisory Board and the REALTOR® Association Collaboration Work Group. Angela also serves the Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) on the Budget and Finance Committee, the Association Executives Council and the Conference Presidential Advisory Group.

Angela holds the CAE, RCE and e-Pro designations. She has been inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® Omega Tau Rho fraternity for her exemplary dedication and service to the REALTOR® organization and received the Texas Association of REALTORS® Tom D. Morton Award which is given to a Texas association executive for excellence, service to members, personal and professional accomplishments, and achievement. In addition, she was inducted into the prestigious Dr. Almon R. (Bud Smith), RCE, AE Leadership Society with the National Association of REALTORS® which recognizes leading contributors to the industry and the profession.

She is a proud graduate from the University of Georgia and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

 Sr. Vice President of Risk Management and General Counsel (Interim CEO as of October 1, 2017)
Gilbert Gonzalez joined SABOR in 2012 as the Vice President of Risk Management and General Counsel, assisting members with legal questions and providing education to members on how to reduce their risk. Prior to coming to SABOR, Gilbert was a prosecutor with Bexar County for 5 years where he prosecuted various types of cases including trying 50 cases before a jury. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.
